Brannigan 2006 Speech and Song
Each year at my birthday, known as The Brannigan, I perform a special speech and song. These are the speech and song from Brannigan 2006.
Speech:
This poem is for someone, but you know who you are. This poem is called Brannigan’s Love. (pause)
Brannigan's Law
I’ll get you like Doctor Claw
A pact made in Warsaw.
Is like Brannigan's love
Not a concept of wuv
Enterprise orbits above.
Hard and fast
Like the Black Pearl’s mast
And a fireball cast.
Just turned twenty-two
This day I rue
Balls are still blue.
Song:
(bow) I shall now butcher a song.
I’ve loved, I’ve laughed and cried.
I’ve had my fill; my share of losing.
And now, as tears subside,
I find it all so amusing.
To think I did all that;
And may I say - not in a shy way,
No, oh no not me,
I did it my way.
For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught.
To say the things he truly feels;
And not the words of one who kneels.
The record shows I took the blows -
And did it my way.
