The Nerd Olympics 2007
Honour. Courage. Greatness. For some men, these are merely words. For those brave enough to compete at The Nerd Olympics, they are a way of life. It is time, once again, to recount the glory of another Nerd Olympics, this being the 2007 edition, and the third annual.

This year, our contestants competed for medals made of Magic cards themselves, the very fuel which fires the passion of our athletes.
A brand new sign was created for Nerd Olympics 2007. It is seen here hanging with last year's sign.
The mystery of the Energizer battery loomed large at Nerd Olympics. Weskimo believed he had opened the package to see this incredible sight. Turns out Bill had snuck it in there with little disturbance to the packaging.
Nutrition, as always, was a chief concern at The Olympics. We did what we could to stay healthy.
March of the Nerds
This year featured a record turnout. New athletes came to take up the gauntlet and many from previous years returned to defend their honour.

The attendance of women was at an all time high this year. Two ladies, Kyla and Kristina are seen here dueling in Duck Hunt.
This appears to be from when we were preparing to watch a film. An angry debate took place shortly after this photo was taken, the group split into Star Wars and Ninja Turtles II camps, the Turtles ultimately succeeded.
I have utterly no idea what DMUSER is doing here. Perhaps preparing another medal to place on his necklace of victory. Nice socks, DMUSER.
Ah, this must be from the Street Fighter II tournament, the first competition. You can tell because no one looks like they want to kill themselves yet.
Another newcomer, Brad, battles someone in a game of chess while others experience the greatness of Rampart in the background.
Gazelle and Andrew begin what was surely a grueling game of chess. Many of the games at Nerd Olympics 2007 were grueling, Magic chief among them.

The fate of the world itself was decided at The Olympics this year.
In this photograph, Dubious, Quaid, and DMUSER bow their heads, Brentor surrenders to sleep, and Brad and Nicholas Picholas look on with deep concern. Doug, the ultimate victor of this match stares down his primary opponent, me, Newbs. This picture may very well have been taken at the precise moment that I made the decision that would lose me the game, deciding to hold on to the set that I had, which Doug ended up stealing from me.
